Explore Marrakech and second oldest Imperial City. Stop at the enormous Bedii Palace, constructed by artisans from around the world using the most expensive materials. Visit the Koutoubia Mosque, the tombs of the Saadien kings, the Dar Si Said Museum, and the Agdal and Menara Gardens.

Day 1: New York/Casablanca
Evening departure on Royal Air Maroc for Casablanca. Dinner and wine on board.

Day 2: Casablanca/Agadir/Taroudant
Short domestic flight to Agadir, charming beach resort surrounded by fascinating Berber towns. Welcome and transfer to hotel. Afternoon visit to Taroudant, oldest walled city of Morocco with colorful markets and craftsmen. It’s 20-foot-high walls surround citrus groves and shops, cafes and souk stalls.

Day 3: Agadir/Tafraout/Tiznit/Agadir
After breakfast, depart for Tafraout through the land of the Ida Oukensous tribe, known for their finely engraved silver daggers and richly inlaid rifles. After lunch, return to Agadir with a stop at the the old French Foreign Legion fort of Tiznit.

Day 4: Agadir/Zagora
Morning departure for Zagora, stops in Taliouine, a beautiful steep-walled oasis valley, and Tazenakht, famous for luxurious carpets. On to Berber village of Agdz, also known for its carpets, through the Draa River Valley, dotted with many Kasbahs. Final destination of Zagora. Check-in at hotel.

Day 5: Zagora/Erfoud
Morning sightseeing before departing for Efoud through the desert hills of Djebel Bani where huge black rocks form a natural rampart. Lunch in Tazzarine, and old frontier village. Continue to Erfoud via the oasis of Alnif. Check in at hotel in Erfoud, or if you prefer, live the life of a Bedouin for the night in a tent under the stars on the dunes of Merzouga.

Day 6: Erfoud/Merzouga/Tinegher/Ouarzazate
Awake before dawn to experience a magical desert sunrise over th Merzouga Dunes. Return to your hotel for breakfast before traveling to Ouarzazate. The last leg of your journey is through the famous Todra Gorge, the “Grand Canyon” of Morocco, the Dades Valley, Boumalne du Dades; Kelaa des M’Gouna, with its spectacular rose gardens; Amerhidil with its extravagant Kasbah; the luxurious oasis of Skoura and finally Ouarzazate and your hotel.

Day 7: Ouarzazate/Marrakech
Morning sightseeing includes the recently restored hundred-year-old Taourirt Kasbah and the Tifoultoutte Kasbah, followed by a stop in Ait Ben Addou, a picturesque ksar (fortified stronghold) decorated with geometric patterns. From here, travel through the Tizi-n-Tichka Pass across the High Atlas on you way to Marrakech.

Day 8: Marrakech
After breakfast, entire day devoted to exploring Marrakech, second oldest Imperial City. Stop at the enormous Bedii Palace, constructed by artisans from around the world using the most expensive materials. Visit the Koutoubia Mosque, the tombs of the Saadien kings, the Dar Si Said Museum, and the Agdal and Menara Gardens. A “must see” is the huge Djemaa El Fna Square with its exotic story tellers, fire-eaters, acrobats, peddlers and much more.

Day 9: Marrakech/Ourika Valley/Marrakech
Pay a morning visit to the Majorelle tropical gardens of Yves St. Laurent, planted with bougainvillea, coconut palms and banana trees, followed by a visit to Marrakech’s Medina (old city) for shopping. After lunch, take an excursion to the natural sights of the Valley of Ourika at the foot of the Atlas Mountains and discover the charm of a Berber village.

Day 10: Marrakech/Casablanca/ New York
After breakfast, transfer to the Marrakech’s Menara Airport for Casablanca to connect with your flight back home.
